Dear Mr. Blankenship, et al.
On 21 May
2025, I received notification from my credit card provider that my number had
been used with an unrecognized merchant and asking if the charges were
authentic. They were not. The additional batch of charges were not approved and
the initial one that was is now in the €˜disputed€™ status. This, of course,
caused a few auto-bills to fail, including LA Fitness the following day.
I updated
the information as soon as new became available and all looked good until:
I had not
authorized the increase and wonder why it posted this amount rather than the
regular monthly US$39.99?
Indeed, the
following day I received confirmation of the monthly total:
I have tried
to reach you via telephone on at least three occasions over two days and have
been unsuccessful. A $5 overbill seems like a silly reason to write all this,
but:
1) I know well that a single case of
overbilling unaddressed is just the beginning and I am not in a position to
give gifts of any amount to billion dollar
corporations. (Or interest-free loans)
2) In addition to the refund of the
excess, I had also requested (for months) that my €œhome€ gym be changed to East
Loop. I understand that front desk staff, even when they speak and understand
English are not in a position to effect change but escalate to someone who can
is nothing like too much to ask.
3) From the beginning of my LAF tenure,
I had requested a physical scan card because I, for fear of dating myself, am
not attached to telephones and would prefer not even to have to carry one in
places where heavy objects are routinely dropped and rolled. I very much hope
that viral mania, real or imagined is no longer the excuse.
If you need
to discuss any of these via voice, please use: https://contact.aloyts.com and list 3 times/dates that you will be available. I will
make one work.
Sincerely,
Simon Aloyts
